Rose Hip Zero ( Japaneseロ ー ズ ヒ ッ プ ゼ ロ) is a manga series by Tōru Fujisawa , which appeared from 2005 to 2006 in about 900 pages. The Shōnen -Action series tells the story of Fujisawa's Rose Hip Rose , but was created after it.

action

The policeman Kido used to work in an anti-terrorist unit and was considered one of the best there. After his sister was killed in a bomb attack by the Japanese terrorist organization Alice , Kido resigned. He now works in a normal police station as a youth officer, but you can clearly see that he doesn't enjoy the job.

One day his old boss Hata shows up and wants to bring him back to the organization, because Japan is being hit by a wave of terror and 30 higher officials have already been killed in attacks. Kido refuses at first. When he learns that Alice was behind these attacks, he changes his mind. He gets a new partner, Kasumi Asakura, who is only 14 years old. Kido initially underestimated Asakura because of her young age. He learns that Asakura was once a member of Alice and that this terrorist organization is made up entirely of young people. Kido is shocked that he should fight against minors and also that they are superior to him in the fight.

Publications

Rose Hip Zero was published in Japan from 2005 to 2006 in individual chapters in the weekly Shōnen Magazine , the second-largest manga magazine at the time. The Kōdansha publishing house also brought out these individual chapters in five edited volumes.

In North America, the manga was published in November 2006 on Tokyopop . Egmont Manga & Anime published the five volumes between June 2007 and July 2008 in German translation by Stefan Hofmeister, who has already translated the previously published Rose Hip Rose into German. The series was also published in French and Chinese.

reception

The manga is implemented in a practiced, detailed style and solid, so critic Jason Thompson . The story, however, seems as if Fujisawa wrote it "on autopilot".
