Yōko Hikasa

Yōko Hikasa ( Japanese 日 笠 陽 子 , Hikasa Yōko ; born July 16, 1985 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and singer. She works for the I'm Enterprise agency.

Career

As a child she watched Sailor Moon and Neon Genesis Evangelion and was thrilled to see how Kotono Mitsuishi portrayed the two fundamentally different characters of Usagi Tsukino and Misato Katsuragi, so that she wanted to emulate her as a voice actress. After graduating from school, she trained as a seamstress at a technical school and at the same time as a voice actress at the Nihon Narration Academy Engi Kenkyūjo ( 日本 ナ レ ー シ ョ ン 演技 研究所 ), as Mitsuishi had also attended this academy.

In 2007 she finally made her debut as voice actress for the character Minamo Negishi in the anime Sketchbook - Full Color’s . She finally had her big break in 2009 in the lead role of Mio Akiyama in K-On! . In 2010 she received several significant roles in a row, such as Hattori Junko in Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaō and Maya Kumashiro in Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin , and again as Mio Akiyama in the sequel K-On !! .

She sang to K-On under her role name Mio Akiyama ! and K-On !! also the end titles Don't say “lazy” , Listen !! and No, Thank You! . With Aki Toyosaki , Satomi Satō , Minako Kotobuki and Ayana Taketatsu, the spokespersons for the protagonists in both series, she formed the band Hōkago Tea Time . Under their names, the end titles were released as singles and reached number 2 on the Oricon charts, but also various other albums that reached all chart positions, the albums Hōkago Tea Time and Hōkago Tea Time II even number 1.
