Minako Kotobuki ( Japanese 寿 美 菜子 , Kotobuki Minako ; born September 17, 1991 in Kobe ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and singer.

Life

Minako Kotobuki comes from Kobe , but attended the technical college Tōhō Gakuen ( 東 放 学園 高等 専 修 学校 , Tōhō Gakuen kōtō senshū gakkō ) in Shinjuku , which she graduated in 2009.

In 2005 she took part in the 1st Music Ray'n Super Seiyū Audition ( ミ ュ ー ジ ッ ク レ イ ン ス ー パ ー 声優 オ ー デ ィ シ ョ ン , Myūjikku Rein Sūpā Seiyū Ōdishon ), which was organized by the artist agency Music Ray, which belongs to Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) . There she was one of the four winners alongside Ayahi Takagaki , Haruka Tomatsu and Aki Toyosaki and was thus signed.

She had her first role as a voice actress in 2006 in the anime series Red Garden . This was followed by other smaller roles. However, she only had her breakthrough in 2009 with the role of Tsumugi Kotobuki in K-On! , which became one of the most successful anime of the year. Another stroke of luck turned out to be that the series released a large number of singles and albums, with it being represented on more than two dozen of them.

On February 15, 2009, at the event Music Ray'n girls: Haru no Choco Matsuri, the founding of the music group Sphere ( ス フ ィ ア , Sufia ) with her and her agency colleagues Ayahi Takagaki, Haruka Tomatsu and Aki Toyosaki was announced. This has released ten singles and three albums so far. On September 15, 2010, she also started a solo career with the release of the single Shiny + , which reached number 13 on the Oricon charts. Her four previously released solo singles were summarized on September 12, 2012 in the album My stride , with which she entered the charts at number 8.
