Manyū Hiken-chō ( Japanese 魔 乳 秘 剣 帖 , German "Secret Sword Scroll of the Manyū" [German magical breasts ]) is the title of a manga series written and drawn by Hideki Yamada , which was published from 2005 to 2012 in the Tech Gian manga magazine, edited by Enterbrain . The series takes place in a parallel universe of the Taihei Edo period , in which large breasts are viewed as a symbol of wealth and women are shown the corresponding appreciation. The story of Kunoichi Chifusa Manyū and her companion Kaede, told in a humorous style, is followed . You are in possession of a scroll from the Manyū family describing a secret fighting technique that allows female family members to rob other women of their breasts and enlarge their own. Since they stole the scroll, they are on the run and try to find out for their part how to reverse the effect, as Kaede was also a victim of this technique.

The ongoing manga series was adapted by Hoods Entertainment , directed by Hiraku Kaneko, as an anime television series in 2011 , which began airing in July.

scenario

In Manyū Hiken-chō , a hypothetical world is sketched, which relates largely to historical events of the Edo period , but presents them from a different point of view. The rule is that breasts come first. Large and shapely breasts are considered a symbol of wealth and popularity. Women who only have small breasts, on the other hand, are belittled and, as described in the introduction, sometimes not even viewed as 'people'. The Manyū family is particularly well off, having developed various techniques over time to promote the growth and beauty of the breasts. This includes a sword technique that enables female members of the family to 'cut off' other women's breasts (literally, though not shown) and thereby grow their own. As a result, the girls are taught sword skills from an early age and eventually learn the techniques to secretly enrich themselves with other women's breasts just to look good themselves.

The region in which the action takes place is now in the hands of the Tokugawa Shogun dynasty, whose leader is portrayed as an extreme lover of large breasts and who therefore accepts almost anything. The fact that large breasts are not always a blessing is just as caricatured as the demeanor of men who cannot escape the sight of shaking mountains of meat. There are numerous allusions to typical clichés, religion and general human weaknesses.

action

The protagonist of the manga Chifusa Manyū ( 魔 乳 千 房 , Manyū Chifusa ) was born as the child of the head of the Manyū and grew up there under the protection of her mother. However, the mother dies in an incident and from then on Chifusa is subjected to the strict teaching of her father and leader of the family. She is trained to become the successor, but cannot really make friends with this life, as she is forced to duel with other girls in order to practice the techniques on them. During the time she receives support from her friend Kaede ( ), who is also subordinate to Chifusa as a servant, while she has a rather divided relationship with her sister Kagefusa Manyū ( 魔 乳 影 房 , Manyū Kagefusa ). In contrast to Chifusa, Kagefusa is very ruthless and very convinced of the family tradition.

The good-natured Chifusa gradually begins to question the system and thus comes into conflict with the head of the family, even though she has been appointed as the successor. One day the conflict comes to a point that she rebels and tries to escape, taking the scroll with her. This attempt fails, however, and Kaede, who was loyal to her, had her breasts 'cut off' as punishment by Kagefusa. This only worsens the conflict, so that Chifusa and Kaede finally flee together with the scroll. This leads to a duel with Kagefusa, who also loses her breasts, which on the other hand makes Chifusa's ones grow.

On their escape, Chifusa and Kaede try to discover the secret of the scroll. So far, Chifusa can only cut off the breasts of her opponents and let her own wax. The scroll should also contain a technique with which the volume can also be transferred from one person to another. However, the two of them cannot hide forever and are forced to travel the country while envoys from the family keep trying to kill them. However, since Chifusa is an extremely good fighter, she can win most duels outright, which is also a problem. She tries not to kill her opponents, so that in the end all you have to do is weaken the opponent's morale. As a result, she repeatedly catches the breasts of her pursuers, which is gradually becoming a real problem, as Chifusa's breasts get bigger and bigger and restrict her mobility. They are also becoming more and more noticeable, as they are admired and revered in the towns and cities, which she does not like at all, especially since not even the women are more considerate and show their lesbian side, which includes Kaede.

After initial failures, Ōka Sayama ( 狭 山 桜 花 , Sayama Ōka ) is set on Chifusa as a blessing and a curse at the same time . She is very cold-hearted and holds a grudge against any woman with large breasts because she doesn't have any and is accordingly jealous. In particular, she has a strong hatred of Chifusa, as she lost her breasts and the ability to ever grow them again while training with Chifusa. In a first argument, Chifusa is greatly inferior to her and loses part of her bust size before she can just pull back. Ōka also masters the technique of the Manyū, but cannot use it for himself.

So Chifusa and Kaede are still on the run and experience various absurdities. Be it that the ruler Hatomune Mie ( 三重 鳩 宗 , Mie Hatomune ) chases after them, who delights in competitions that are naturally fixated on breasts, men who prefer flat breasts instead, women who suffer from their bust size , children , who attack women because they miss the warmth of their mother's breasts or competitors who proudly flaunt their bust size.

Adaptations

radio play

On October 16, 2010, Chara-Ani published a radio play based on the manga. The cast of the roles by the speakers differs from that of the anime ( see synchronization ).

Anime

Based on the plot of the manga, the eponymous anime television series Manyū Hiken-chō was created . The series was animated by Hoods Entertainment and directed by Hiraku Kaneko . The composition of the anime was done by Seishi Minakami, the character design was worked out by Jun Takagi based on the manga, and Shigemi Ikeda from Atelier Musa took over the artistic direction. Jun Takagi was also the head of animation. Akira Matsui, Hiroaki Ōki and Yoshiyuki Ito appeared as producers.

The series was first announced in the May 2011 issue of Tech Gian , the magazine in which the manga is published. The broadcast began on the night of July 11, 2011 (and thus the previous television day ) on TV Kanagawa . In the days that followed, broadcasting began on Tokyo MX , Chiba TV , KBS Kyōto , Sun Television and AT-X . While AT-X only censored some scenes with artificial fog and light, the transmission on the other channels was heavily censored. In places, nothing could be seen in the pictures or alternative scenes were shown. An uncut, uncensored version was meanwhile offered as a so-called 'Directors Cut' via the streaming provider ShowTime , where broadcasting began on July 22nd.

Release on DVD and Blu-ray is scheduled to begin on October 4th, 2011. The first edition should also contain the OVA Binyū Tanren-hō • Nyū-Togi and the picture story Kaede no 'Chifusa-sama Oppai Seichō Kiroku' .

music

The music accompanying the series was created in cooperation with Lantis and was composed and arranged by Miyu Nakamura . The opening credits were titled Unmei ( 運 命 , dt. "Destiny") and the end credits with the title Futatsu no Ashiato ( 二 つ の 足跡 , dt. "Two footprints"), both of which were interpreted by AiRI .
