Rō-kyū-bu! ( Japanese. ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ! , Eng. "Basketball Club ") is a light novel series by the Japanese writer Sagu Aoyama with illustrations by the artist Tinkle . The novel series has also been adapted into several manga series, anime series and computer games.
action
The series is about high school student Subaru Hasegawa who becomes the coach of the female middle school basketball team. He has to deal with both the students and the suspicion of being a lolicon .

Volumes 6 and 10 contain six of ten short stories previously published in Dengeki Bunko Magazine . The serial novel Visual Rō-Kyū-Bu! Was published in Dengeki Moeō magazine from October 26, 2009 (12/2009 issue) to October 26, 2013 (12/2013 issue) . ( び じ ゅ あ る ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ! , Bijuaru Rō-Kyū-Bu! ).
On January 25, 2013 the art book Rō-Kyū-Bu! no subete !! ( ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ! の す べ て !! ; ISBN 978-4-04-891135-1 ) with illustrations from the light novel, the mangas, anime and the game.
Adaptations
Manga
The first manga series of the same name is drawn by Yūki Takami and has been published since August 30, 2010 (issue 10/2010) in ASCII Media Works' manga magazine Dengeki G's magazine . So far (as of December 2013) the individual chapters have also been summarized in six anthologies ( Tankōbon ).
A Yonkoma manga called Rō-Kyū-Bu comes from Futaba Miwa ! Yonkoma ( ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ! よ ん こ ま ), which has been published in Dengeki Moeō magazine since April 26, 2011 (issue 6/2011) . So far (as of December 2013) two anthologies have been published.
Yūki Takami has been drawing the manga Rō-Kyū-Bu! Since October 26, 2012 (Vol. 26) . Halftime ( ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ! は 〜 ふ た い む , Rō-Kyū-Bu! Hāfutaimu ), published in Dengeki G's Festival! Comic appears. So far the chapters have been summarized in an anthology.
Anime
The studios project No.9 and Studio Blanc adapted the novel series as a 12-part anime series directed by Keizō Kusakawa and the character design by Takayuki Noguchi. The series premiered on AT-X from July 1 to September 23, 2011 and, with a delay of up to a week, also on TV Kanagawa , Chiba TV , Sun TV , KBS Kyōto , Tokyo MX , TV Saitama and TV Aichi . In North America, the series was licensed by Sentai Filmworks .
The PSP game Rō-Kyū-Bu! Himitsu no Otoshimono from June 20, 2013 was enclosed with a DVD ( OVA ) that contained a 13th episode of the anime.
On October 20, 2012, it was announced that a second season of the anime entitled Rō-Kyū-Bu! SS to be produced. This was produced by project No.9 alone and director Kusakawa was supported by Shinsuke Yanagi as an assistant director . The 12 episodes ran from July 5 to September 27, 2013 on AT-X and then on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyōto and TV Aichi.

music
The series soundtrack was created by Takeshi Watanabe . For the first season the play Shoot! used and in the credits Party Love - Okkiku Naritai (Party Love 〜 お っ き く な り た い 〜 ). The corresponding single was released on August 17, 2011 and reached number 10 on the Oricon charts. For the second season, Get goal! was used and in the credits Rolling! Rolling! , the single was released on July 10, 2013 and reached number 11. They were sung by the female protagonists' speakers under the group name Ro-Kyu-Bu . The text of the opening credits comes from Kotoko and the composition by Satoshi Yaginuma from the band fripSide . The closing titles were again written by Haruko Momoi and composed by Takeshi Watanabe.
The opening and closing titles were also released as singles. In addition, a character CD was released for each season and each of the five protagonists , i. H. a single with songs sung by the voice actors in their role. This means that between August 24, 2011 and August 14, 2013 ten more CDs were released. Another character CD for five other girls followed on August 21, 2013. All CDs were able to place themselves in the charts. On August 21, 2013, a best-of album called “Rō-Kyū-Bu!” Character Song Best “Score Book” ( 「ロ ウ き ゅ ー ぶ ぶ！」 キ ャ ラ ク タ タ ー ソ ン グ ベ ス ト “ト コ ア ブ ッ ク” ) was released.
Computer games
Two sports adventure computer games are being released for the series of novels: Rō-Kyū-Bu! from October 27, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), Rō-Kyū-Bu! Himitsu no Otoshimono from June 20, 2013. The latter was accompanied by an anime DVD. Another adventure called Rō-Kyū-Bu! Naisho no Shutter Chance has been announced for the PlayStation Vita on March 27, 2014 .
