Angeloid ( Japanese そ ら の お と し も の , Sora no Otoshimono , Eng. "Heaven's Lost Property") is a manga series that was written and illustrated by the Japanese artist Sū Minazuki . The manga series was published from May 2007 to January 2014 in Shōnen Ace magazine, edited by Kadokawa Shoten . In 2009, animation studio AIC ASTA adapted the manga as an anime television series. Both works can be classified into the categories Shōnen and Etchi .

The rather comfortable student Tomoki would like to live a quiet life without any excitement and enjoys living out his youth in a smaller town surrounded by mountains. At school he regularly falls asleep during class and would probably spend the whole day in bed if his school friend Sohara didn't always motivate and reprimand him for something. But he also has a problem. Since childhood he has had the same dream about an angel leaving him again and again. Mostly waking up in tears, he leaves Sohara a sickly impression, which makes her want to help him. So she brings him to the whole school classed as special and crazy student Eishirō, who suspects the cause of his problem in an object similar to a black hole . Not being able to really understand the whole thing, they part ways and Tomoki is sitting alone under a cherry tree when he receives a mutilated warning from Eishirō. A shower of falling columns sets in, in the middle of which the female angel Icarus comes to a halt. When trying to save the Angeloid (as a mixture between angel and android), Tomoki puts himself in danger and is ultimately saved by Ikaros. At the same time, she enters into a contract with him, which is symbolized by a collar held by Tomoki. So tied to him, she puts herself in his service and offers him to fulfill every imaginable wish. Surprisingly, being able to bring about everything on request, Tomoki uses the situation intensively to make every imaginable, mostly perverse dream come true.
There is a catch, however. Ikaros can no longer break off requests that have been commissioned, whereupon all other people disappear with the desire for world domination . In addition, Ikaros interpreted into his words that she should stay away from him and threatens to shoot herself. Fortunately, he can keep her from doing that when he wishes it was all just a dream. This gives him another chance this time to use her abilities, or those of the synapse , as she calls the black hole, responsibly.
Sohara is horrified to discover that Tomoki has a new roommate, Ikaros, which she is not at all happy about at first. When Ikaros accompanies Tomoki to school, she causes him too much excitement that he sends her home after discovering that the chain that connects him and Ikaros can simply be removed from her. Ikaros leaves him one of her “magic” cards, which is an even older model, in order to still do justice to her role as the protector of Tomoki. When Sohara is still dissatisfied at school and walks away from him in a huff, she falls over her own legs and exposes her underpants, which show a dog as a motif. Tomoki's inner wish leads the card to fulfill his unspoken wish, whereupon her underpants behave like a bird and fly away. Looking for help in Eishirōs club room, she tries to put on various other underpants, but they all become independent and fly away. Believing that she could never wear underpants again, which is a horrific idea for her, Ikaros comes to her aid. So they get the idea that they might just have to find a pair of underpants that Tomoki unconsciously likes. Once again, Ikaros takes the desire for more underpants too literally and transforms all underpants within a radius of several hundred meters into "flying underpants", which ultimately rain down on Tomoki. In the end, they try all sorts of underpants in Tomoki's house until the very last one, which is very similar to the first one, but shows the motif of a bear, does not resist and cancels the effect of the card. In the end, the reason for this wish is cleared up, which lies in the past of Tomoki, who was already riddled with perverse thoughts as a child. Even as a child he looked at Sohara's underwear, which showed this very motif. In the end, Tomoki sees all his underpants fly away, and the "underpants meteor showers" are reported all over the world.

- Ikaros ( イ カ ロ ス , Ikarosu )
- She is an angeloid (a mixture of angel and android ) and comes from the synapse . It has a very human appearance, but has wings and some mechanical parts that are visible on the ears. In her past she was referred to as the Uranus Queen and unconditionally served her leaders from the synapse. To the amusement of the leadership, it repeatedly terrorized ancient mankind and B. the Tower of Babel . As a so-called Battle-Class Angeloid of the Alpha class , it has various weapons. A system called Artemis fires a series of homing projectiles emanating from their wings. As a defense, it has a shield called an aegis , which can neutralize almost any weapon. This also makes them the most powerful weapon of the synapse. Since then she has been recognizing herself as Pet-Class Angeoid, Type Alpha and accepts Tomoki as her master, which is symbolized by a chain on her neck. However, if Tomoki is in danger, part of her old self wakes up and can be extremely aggressive. - Sohara Mitsuki ( 見 月 そ は ら , Mitsuki Sohara )
- She is Tomoki's childhood friend and is very worried about him, even if she repeatedly beats him and calls him to order. She is also a big-breasted beauty who, unlike Ikaros, holds back very much, but repeatedly becomes the victim of Tomoki's fantasies. In doing so, she is at odds with her feelings. Because although she dreams of winning Tomoki as a man and also has various sexual fantasies in this regard, it is extremely easy to anger Tomoki when he is doing his favorite pastime again. Her anger is repeatedly expressed by an aura surrounding her, which Tomoki repeatedly makes difficult.
- Eishirō Sugata ( 守 形 英 四郎 , Sugata Eishirō )
- He is described as a crazy and strange, but also ingenious student who has been trying to analyze the synapse for a long time. He constructs flying machines, which he continues to develop within the chapters. His dream is to be able to fly himself one day, which he usually fails. Despite his serious, well-groomed appearance, he is very poor, which was later explained by the fact that his parents cast him out, and lives in a tent by the river, beyond the village. He is the only main character who remains consistently serious and can usually see through the current situation.

- She is on the student council and seems to be insured against everything. She doesn't seem to be able to wait until Eishirō kills himself with one of his crazy ideas. Her family is a famous mafia clan, and she too is well trained in combat. She is an old childhood friend of Eishirō. She brings Tomoki and Sohara by her blunt manner again and again in embarrassment, whereby she is consistently nasty and devious, which expresses itself in particular about her relationship with Eishirō, who has also become part of the clan.
- Nymph ( ニ ン フ , Ninfu )
- She is also an angeloid and has the appearance of a thin girl who just doesn't want to grow breasts. She was sent from the Synapse to kill Tomoki and bring Ikaros back. At first, she is far superior to Ikaros, who is almost unemotional, whom she calls alpha, because she knows how to penetrate the systems of other angels. After all, she is an Electronic Warfare Angeloid, Type Beta ( 電子 戦 用 エ ン ジ ェ ロ イ ド タ イ プ β ). However, this fails and Nymph has to put up with waiting for an opportunity. In doing so, however, she discovers the joys of life and is unable to fulfill her mission, even when she is tormented for it by her master from the synapse. Shortly before her supposed death, which should occur in the event that her mission is not fulfilled, her new friends manage to cut the chain that connects her to her master. Since then she has been free and has to come to terms with a completely new chapter in her life as she is now on her own. She is also in love with Tomoki and wants him to be a master.
- Astraea ( ア ス ト レ ア , Asutorea )
- After Nymph defected from her master, Astraea (named after Astraea from Greek mythology) was given the task of killing Tomoki. She is a Close Combat Angeloid, Type Delta ( 地 戦 闘 用 エ ン ジ ェ ロ イ ド タ イ プ Δ ) and one of the last of her kind. She is the counterpart to Ikaros and Nymph, because in contrast to Ikaros she feels strong emotions and in comparison to Nymph she feels much stronger is. However, it has one crucial weakness. She has only a very limited intelligence and therefore comes up with completely absurd trains of thought, whereby she often finds the same absurd solution with Tomoki.
Origin and publications
The Sora no Otoshimono manga series was written and illustrated by the Japanese artist Sū Minazuki . It appeared from May 2007 to January 2014 in Shōnen Ace magazine , edited by Kadokawa Shoten . The individual chapters were combined into 20 tankōbon issues, the first copy of which was published on September 26, 2007. The final volume was published in March 2014.

The animation studio AIC ASTA adapted the manga as an anime television series in 2009 . The series was directed by Hisashi Saito . The series was broadcast from October 5 to December 28, 2009 at midnight (and thus on the previous television day ) on Chiba TV and with a one-and-a-half hour delay on TV Saitama . With a few days delay, the series was also broadcast on KBS Kyōto , Sun TV , Tokyo MX , TV Aichi , TV Kanagawa and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting . On April 26, 2014, the second and so far last film Sora no Otoshimono Final: Eternal My Master came out. The opening credits were titled Ring My Bell by blue drops, a group consisting of Hitomi Yoshida and Saori Hayami . A special feature of the anime is that each episode has its own credits.
