Rio - Rainbow Gate! is an anime television series produced by the animation studio Xebec under the direction of Takao Kato and first broadcast on Japanese television in 2011. It is based on the Rio - Pachinko series of the companies Net and Tecmo Koei Wave (formerly Tecmo ) and is about the woman Rio, who is extremely lucky at gambling and can also transfer this to other players.

action

Playing in the future, the Howard Resort ( ハ ワ ー ド リ ゾ ー ト ) is located on an island in which Rio "Rollins" Tachibana ( リ オ ・ ロ リ ン ズ ・ タ チ バ ナ ) works as a croupier . She has the ability to bring great happiness to the participants in the games, where her presence alone is sufficient. For this reason she earned the nickname "Shori no Megami" ( 勝利 の 女神 , "Goddess of Winning") and is well known on the island.

One day she gets a visit from the young girl Mint Clark ( ミ ン ト ・ ク ラ ー ク ) who accompanied her grandfather on a visit to the casino. The two quickly become very good friends. However, Rio's life changes suddenly when she comes into possession of one of the 13 legendary playing cards, called Gates , and she is supposed to take part in a tournament for the title of MVCD (Most Valuable Casino Dealer). This puts their reputation on the line and Rio is forced to compete against the world's best gamblers. She is also accompanied by her younger sister Rina Tachibana ( リ ナ ・ タ チ バ ナ ) with whom Rio has a close friendship, but who in turn sees Rio as a rival.

Rio is also in close contact with her numerous friends, who mainly consist of the staff. These include the actress Rosa Canyon ( ローザ·キャニオン ), which is also her guardian, Tiffany Abbot ( ティファニー·アッボット ) and siblings Rina Adams and El Adams ( リナ·タチバナ , エル·タチバナ ). The latter two usually give an explanation of the course of the game in the games. At the same time, Rio becomes the trainer of the rather shy Russian Anya Helsing ( ア ー ニ ャ ・ ヘ ル シ ン グ ), who at the same time fulfills the role of a dojikko and causes a chain reaction of accidents after the other. She is also supported by the manager of the casino Tom Howard ( ト ム ・ ハ ワ ー ド ), who, however, has a one-sided love affair with Rio and is driven by perverse thoughts. The secondary character is Linda ( リ ン ダ (LINDA-R-2007) ), whose relationship with Rio is puzzling.
