Codex Boreelianus

The Codex Boreelianus ( Gregory-Aland no. F e or 09 ) is a Greek manuscript of the four Gospels , which dates back to the 9th century. The handwriting is incomplete. It is named after Johannes Boreel (1577–1629), a Dutch envoy to the English royal court. The codex disappeared in the meantime and was found again by Jodocus Heringa in Arnhem in 1830.

The codex consists of 204 written parchment sheets (28.5 × 22 cm).

The Codex consists of the four Gospels ( Matthew , Mark , Luke and John ). He lacks many parts of the Gospels. The Codex is kept in the University of Utrecht (Univ. Bibl. Ms. 1):

The text is in two columns with 19 lines. Accents as well as spiritus asper and lenis are there.

It contains lists of the κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonian Sections (non Eusebian Canon ), and Lectionary markings.
