The Col de la Chapelotte is a mountain pass at an altitude of 447 meters in the French Vosges . Its name is derived from the name given to a small statue of the Virgin Mary that is inserted into the trunk of a tree.

The Col is located on the natural border between the Lorraine plateau and the Vosges, and is crossed by the D992 road.
history
During the First World War , the area was the site of violent clashes. About 2000 French fighters were killed there.
