Hanno Coldam
Hanno Coldam (actually Heinz Matloch; born October 25, 1932 in Berlin ; † April 13, 1992 there ) was a trainer from the GDR .
Live and act
He actually trained as a blacksmith, but then became a prop setter at the Barlay Circus . From 1950 to 1954 he worked as a zoo keeper for Gilbert Houcke . He then worked as a tamer at the Eros circus until 1960 .
Hanno Coldam worked with lions and panthers in his predator training sessions, his number "Razor Lions", which he also presented in the DEFA feature film Black Panthers in 1966, was particularly well known . He was chief trainer in the GDR state circus and was awarded the GDR national prize.
Coldam worked until 1990 as chief trainer and trainer for young trainers at the GDR State Circus, which, after 30 years of existence, was dissolved as a result of the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification .
He died in Berlin in 1992 at the age of 59 and was buried in the Sophienfriedhof II there.
