Colin Jamieson

Colin Jamieson (born March 29, 1948 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish drummer , percussionist and songwriter. He became known as a member of Country Joe McDonald , Ted Herold , Highlander and The Dynamite Daze .

Youth and education

Colin Jamieson began playing drums at the age of twelve. In his youth he was a member of his school band and in 1963 did an apprenticeship as a fashion outfitter. On the side he drummed in various rock bands . In 1966 he founded the band The Corsairs, where he met his future wife Helen. In the early 1980s he was the drummer and percussionist for Country Joe McDonald , with whom he toured worldwide.

Career in Germany

In 1978 Colin founded the band Nemesis with his wife Helen. They moved to Germany and played in American and rock clubs. At that time he also became known as the drummer for rock 'n' roll singer Ted Herold . In 1988, Scottish guitarist Alan Murdoch brought Colin to the Overseas Project formation and the band finally renamed itself to Highlander. Colin now played biker and tartan rock for Highlander. The band became known all over Europe, released eight albums and played at various festivals including the Wacken Open Air .

In 2000 Colin dropped out of Highlander and worked with singer and harmonica player Diddy D.

2001 Diddy D and Colin Jamieson formed the band The Boogaloo Kings. When Colin was hired by the blues musician Louisiana Red in 2002, they worked together for more than ten years until his death in 2012. In 2010 Colin and his partner Diddy D changed their music style and their band name and have since performed together with bassist Andrea Tognoli and guitarist Martin Czemmel as Colin Jamieson's Dynamite Daze.
