College of the Arts

The School of Art College of the Arts ( COTA ) is an educational institution in the tertiary education sector in Namibia .

It is under the auspices of the Ministry of Basic Education and Culture and is not subordinate to the Ministry of Higher Education .

history

COTA was founded in 1971 by German Namibians as a conservatory . It has had its current name since 1990.

Incidents in 2017

Due to budget cuts, lectures were restricted at the beginning of June 2017 and resumed in mid-June after ongoing protests. In addition, an allocation to the Ministry of Education was announced.
