The Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation ( MHETI ; English Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation ) is, next to the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture , one of two Ministries of Education of Namibia . The ministry is responsible for the tertiary education sector.

Itah Kandji-Murangi has been Minister since March 2015 and is represented by Vice Minister Becky Ndjoze-Ojo .

history

The ministry was founded in this division of departments in 2015 after the Ministry of Education emerged in 2005 from the ministries for "Basic Education, Sport and Culture" and "Higher Education, Training and Job Creation" or "Higher Education" (up to the year 2000) founded in 1990.

The ministry was headed by Abraham Iyambo until his sudden death on February 2, 2013 , who was represented by David Namwandi as deputy minister. On February 21, 2013, Namwandi was appointed as the new minister. Silvia Ganaone Makgone became his deputy . Since 2015 has Itah Murangi-Kandjii held the office.
