The Ministry of Trade and Industrialization ( MTI ; English Ministry of Trade and Industry ), the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Namibia . It is responsible for industrialization and trade ; between March 2015 and March 2020 also for SME development (Ministry of Trade, Industrialization and SME Development) .
The ministry was headed from December 4, 2012 to March 2015 by Minister Calle Schlettwein of the ruling SWAPO party. Tjekero Tweya has held the office since February 8, 2018 , before Lucia Iipumbu took over the ministerial office on March 23, 2020 .
Tasks and structure
The tasks of the ministry are the development of economic and trade structures within Namibia as well as the promotion of investments in Namibia by foreign countries and Namibia abroad.
In detail, these tasks are divided into the following areas:

- Industrial Development ("Directorate for Industrial Development")
