Tjekero Tweya (born June 18, 1960 in Shamundambo , South West Africa , today Namibia ) is a Namibian politician for SWAPO .

Tweya was communications minister from 2015 to 2018 and has been his country's minister of trade and industry since then . In the Pohamba II cabinet , he was vice minister in this ministry between 2010 and 2015.

After joining SWAPO at the age of 15, Tweya held numerous high-ranking positions in Namibian state institutions . As a trained teacher, he worked at numerous schools between 1989 and 1994.
