Pohamba Shifeta

Pohamba Penomwenyo Shifeta (born March 27, 1968 in Ongenga , South West Africa ) is a Namibian politician . He has been Environment and Tourism Minister in the Geingob I cabinet since 2015 and also for the forestry department since 2020 .

Shifeta has been a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since 2005 .

Shifeta has been a trade unionist and student leader since 1988 , mainly in the National Union of Namibian Workers and the Namibia National Students Organization . He has had a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Namibia since 1996 . From 2005 to 2012 he was Vice Minister for Youth, National Services, Sport and Culture . In 2012 he moved to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in the same position , where he took over the ministerial office in 2015.
