Martin Andjaba

Martin Andjaba (born December 17, 1957 in Onhokolo , South West Africa ) is a Namibian politician . He was Minister for Presidential Affairs from April 2018 to March 2020 and Acting Minister for Education, the Arts and Culture in the Geingob I cabinet from July 2019 to March 2020 .

From 2015 to 2020 he was also one of eight members of parliament appointed by President Hage Geingob without voting rights .

Andjaba was awarded the Most Distinguished Order of Namibia 2nd class on Heldentag 2014 .

Professional background

Andjaba began his political career in 1990 as Chief of Protocol . On September 4, 1996 he became Permanent Representative to the United Nations . Andjaba was President of the United Nations Security Council in August 1999 and October 2000 .

In 2010 Andjaba became Namibia's Ambassador to the United States . He held this position until April 2018.
