Immanuel Ngatjizeko (born May 30, 1952 in Otjohorongo , South West Africa , today Namibia ) is a Namibian politician ( SWAPO ) and former minister.

Life

Immanuel Ngatjizeko attended the Augustineum in Windhoek (1968–1972) and studied Commerce and Administration at the University of Fort Hare (1974–1976). He worked in management positions in the financial sector. From 1980 to 1994 he was CFO of the Council of Churches in Namibia (CNN); from 1987 to 2000 he was a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia . From 1994 to 1997 he was managing director of the investment firm Zebra Holdings . From 1998 to 2000 he was director of the National Housing Enterprise .

He has been a member of SWAPO since 1991 and has held numerous important positions at SWAPO, including that of Finance Secretary from 1997 to 2002.

Immanuel Ngatjizeko was Councilor of the City of Windhoek from December 11, 1992 to February 23, 1998 . He was Mayor of Windhoek from 1999 to 2000 . He has been a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since 2000 and was director of the National Planning Commission (NPC) from 2003 to 2005.
