Jack Louis Levinson

Jack Louis Levinson (* 20th August 1916 ;? † 1989) was an entrepreneur in the mining and finance in South-West Africa , now Namibia . Levinson was Mayor of Windhoek between 1963 and 1965 .

Levinson, who was of Jewish faith , married the art patron and author Olga May Levinson in 1943 . He lived with her for some time in the famous Heinitzburg in Windhoek. They were considered one of the wealthiest families in the country at the time.

The Levinson Arcade pedestrian zone in Windhoek is still named after Levinson today (as of December 2017) .
