Mette Rasmussen (2012)

Mette Rasmussen (* around 1980) is a Danish jazz and improvisation musician ( alto saxophone ).

Live and act

Rasmussen studied music in Helsinki around 2009 and worked in a trio with Kasper Tom Christiansen and Andreas Lang in the early 2010s . In 2014 she recorded a self-titled debut album for the Efpi label with her trio Riot , which consisted of the British tenor saxophonist Sam Andreae and the Swiss drummer David Meier .

In Brooklyn she recorded the album All the Ghosts at Once (Relative Pitch) in 2013 in a duo with drummer Chris Corsano ; In 2014 she performed with Corsano at Jazzhus Montmartre as part of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival ( Unseen Recordings ); and Alan Wilkinson and Pat Thomas added the cast at Cafe Oto in London . The following year she performed with Corsano and Georges Paul in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2015 she played in Fire! Orchestra ( ritual , rune gramophone , among others with Susana Santos Silva , Mats Äleklint , Per Åke Holmlander , Per Texas Johansson , Lotte Anker , Mats Gustafsson , Jonas Kullhammar ). In 2017 she released the trio album To the Animal Kingdom (Trost, 2017; with Tashi Dorji and Tyler Damon ).

In the course of her career so far, Rasmussen u. a. also with Alan Silva , Tobias Delius , Rudi Mahall , Wilbert de Joode , Axel Dörner , John Edwards and Craig Taborn . Stylistically, she moves in the field of improvised music, free jazz and textural sound design. Rasmussen lives in Trondheim .
