Björn von Finckenstein

Björn Graf Finck von Finckenstein (born July 23, 1958 in Usakos , South West Africa ) is a German-Namibian doctor and politician in Namibia .

family

Finckenstein comes from the Prussian noble family of the Imperial Counts and Counts Finck von Finckenstein . He is the son of the marriage of Count Günther Finck von Finckenstein and Anka-Margit von Goldammer.

Life

Finck von Finckenstein studied medicine and was awarded a Dr.med. PhD. He works as a general practitioner in Windhoek. He lives in the Klein-Windhoek district and is the medical director of the Namibian blood donation service .

On December 11, 1992 he became Councilor of the City of Windhoek, d. H. Chairman of the city executive. Until May 2008 he was a member of the city executive. Until May 2010 he was a member of the Windhoek City Council .

He was Deputy Mayor in 1993/94 and Mayor of the city of Windhoek from 1995 to February 1998 . His successor, Matheus Shikongo, was the first black man in the mayor's office; Count Finckenstein was his deputy.
