Hendrik Witbooi (politician)
Hendrik Witbooi , actually ǃNanseb ǀGabemab (born January 7, 1934 in Gibeon , South West Africa ; † October 13, 2009 in Windhoek ), was a Namibian politician of SWAPO . He was the great-grandson of Hendrik Witbooi .
Witbooi was interned several times during the Namibian liberation struggle . After joining SWAPO in 1976, he became its vice-president in 1984. In 1980 he was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Namibia .
Witbooi was Namibian Deputy Prime Minister from March 1990 to March 2005 from Namibia's independence . From 1990 to 1995 also Minister of Labor . From 1978 until his death he was captain of the Witbooi-Nama .
