Abraham Iyambo

Abraham Iyambo (born February 2, 1961 in Oniimwandi , South West Africa , today Namibia , † February 2, 2013 in London , United Kingdom ) was a Namibian politician . As a member of SWAPO , he had been represented in parliament since 1995 .

He studied in Havana , Cuba between 1982 and 1985 . In 1985, Iyambo moved to London for advanced studies in nutritional science . He first studied at South London College , before graduating from the University of Surrey in 1990 . Between 1991 and 1994 he studied until he received his doctorate ( PhD ). From 1995 to 1997, Iyambo was Vice Minister for Fisheries before he was promoted to Namibian Minister for Fisheries . He held this office until 2010 when he moved to the Ministry of Education as Minister .

Iyambo died after a long illness, but surprisingly on February 2, 2013 during an official visit to London. He leaves two daughters.
