Cabinet Pohamba I.
The Pohamba I cabinet designates the Namibian government under President Hifikepunye Pohamba , which was formed on March 21, 2005 and replaced the government under President Sam Nujoma . It was replaced on March 21, 2010 by the Pohamba II cabinet . It consisted of members of the ruling SWAPO party, which had won a 3/4 majority in the National Assembly in the 2004 parliamentary elections in Namibia .
The cabinet consisted of the President , the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the ministers appointed by the President. The Prime Minister is the head of government and first advisor to the President, he coordinates all government agencies, ministries and other state agencies. An extensive cabinet reshuffle took place in April 2008, and ministers were swapped among each other in their areas of responsibility.
