Peter Vilho
Peter Hafeni Vilho (born February 2, 1962 in Windhoek , South West Africa ) is a Namibian military man and has been a member of SWAPO since 1977 . He has been Minister of Defense and Veterans since March 23, 2020 . Vilho has been Rear Admiral since 2007 and was Commander in Chief of the Namibian Navy from 2004 to September 29, 2017 .
Vilho began his military career in 1981 in the Namibian liberation struggle with the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN). After independence in 1990 he attended various military training institutions in Namibia and the USA , and in the 2000s also in Brazil and the Netherlands .
