Collins John (born October 17, 1985 in Zwedru , Liberia ) is a Dutch football player .

Club career

Collins John was born in Zwandru, Liberia, and came to the Netherlands because of the civil war in Liberia . He began his career in the DES Nijverdal team. In 2002, at the age of 17, John was brought to the Twente Enschede first team . There he scored eleven goals.

In January 2004 John left his native Netherlands for England for Fulham FC for £ 600,000. There he made his debut on March 20, 2004 against Chelsea . In the 2005/2006 season he was one of the team's top scorers. In the following season he lost his regular place and was only a substitute on the field. In September 2007 he was loaned to Leicester City for three months . He was then loaned to Watford FC. At Leicester he still had a regular place, but at Watford John was not as fit and only appeared in five games.

After Watford did not want to tie him long-term, John was loaned to the NEC Nijmegen . Here, too, he had to struggle with physical fitness problems.

For the 2009/10 season he signed a two-year contract with the Belgian first division club KSV Roeselare , which was dissolved on December 14, 2009 "for family reasons". Previously, Collins was transferred to the club's reserve for disciplinary reasons.

On January 29, 2010, John auditioned for the North American MLS franchise Chicago Fire . On March 11th, he signed a contract.

In 2011, Collins played for FK Qəbələ in the Premyer Liqası in Azerbaijan . In January 2012 he moved to the Iranian association Mes Sarcheshmeh .
