The Collins Point is a small yet striking promontory in the southeast of Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the south side of Port Foster , it is 1.2 km west-southwest of Fildes Point .

The British polar traveler Henry Foster (1796-1831) mapped them during his Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1828 to 1831. Lieutenant Commander David Neil Penfold (1913-1991) of the Royal Navy , who was involved in surveying Deception Island between 1948 and 1949, made the designation. It is named after Kenneth St Barbe Collins (1904–1982), head of map creation in the hydrographic department of the British Admiralty .
