The Fildes Point is a headland in the southeast of Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the north side of the Neptunes Bellows , which in turn represents the entrance to Port Foster , and at the same time marks the southeastern boundary of the entrance to Whalers Bay .
The British seal hunter Robert Fildes (1793–1827) mapped the headland while exploring Deception Island between 1820 and 1821 and named it after himself.
