The Colorado Crush were an arena football team from Denver, Colorado that played in the Arena Football League (AFL). The Crush played their home games at the Pepsi Center .
history
The Crush were founded in 2002 and started in the AFL in the 2003 season. The franchise was founded by former Super Bowl champion and multiple pro bowler John Elway . Co-owners are also Stan Kroenke , the owner of the Colorado Avalanche , Denver Nuggets , the Colorado Rapids and various arenas, as well as Pat Bowlen , who owns the Denver Broncos .
The Crush have nothing to do with the Colorado Crush, founded in 2006 and currently playing in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
The Crush reached the playoffs five times and the conference title once. The greatest success was winning the Arena Bowl in 2005 .
In 2008 the franchise was dissolved, despite an average attendance of 14,541 per game over all years.
