Peter Heinrich Althöfer

Peter Heinrich Althöfer (born October 24, 1775 in Itzehoe , † April 18, 1841 in Nortorf ) was a German pastor and chief preacher .

Life

Peter Heinrich Althöfer attended the Latin school in Itzehoe, which was still in existence at the time, from 1785 to 1795 . From 1795 to 1798 he studied theology in Kiel and during this time and until 1801 he was a private tutor to the children of Count von Brockdorff at Gut Kletkamp . After completing his studies, he passed the official theological examination in Glückstadt in 1798 . Peter Heinrich Althöfer was elected deacon of the Church of St. Nicolai Neuenkirchen in the Münsterdorf Provost on August 8, 1802 and held this office until August 18, 1816. On the same day he took up the post of main preacher of the church in Nortorf in the Rendsburg office (election for this on April 7, 1816). He held this office for 25 years until he died at the age of 66 after years of illness.

Peter Heinrich Althöfer was married to Elise Dorothea Ehlers (* 1774) from Hamburg on November 7, 1802 , who died on December 18, 1812 in childbed. In his second marriage, he was married to Johanna Karolina Würger (daughter of Pastor Georg Christian Würger from Borsfleth, who died in 1815 ) since April 9, 1813 .
