Colossus in Thorpe Park ( Chertsey , Surrey , UK ) is a steel roller coaster model Looping Coaster from the manufacturer Intamin , which opened on March 22, 2002 as the first roller coaster with ten inversions .
Together with the identical facility 10 Inversion Roller Coaster ( Chinese : 十 环 过山车), opened in 2006 in Chimelong Paradise in the People's Republic of China , it was the roller coaster with the most overturns worldwide. In May 2013 the record was replaced by The Smiler in Alton Towers ( Alton , Staffordshire , UK), which has 14 inversions.
The inversions
The passengers first drive through a looping on the approximately 850 m long route , followed by a Cobra-Roll , which consists of two inversions, a double corkscrew , a four-fold ( quad ) Heartline-Roll and, after a left turn, another Heartline-Roll in the opposite direction than the previous four roles.
Trains
Colossus' trains each have seven cars. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.

The Colossus model has meanwhile also been delivered to other amusement parks. In addition to exact copies of Colossus (Rev. A), there are also deliveries with minor deviations from the original (Rev. B).
The Flamingo Land facility was due to open first in Hopi Hari , Brazil . For financial reasons, the track was not built and instead at the Malaysian Park Movie Animation Park Studios , where it was not built.
