COLT Studio Group ( CSG ) is an American erotic and pornography studio based in Sonoma . It is one of the oldest existing companies producing for the gay market. The main brand's players are primarily very masculine men.
history
The company was founded in 1967 in New York City by photographer Jim French , aka Rip Colt , as COLT Studio . The company headquarters was later relocated to Los Angeles , where it stayed for about 25 years and then moved to San Francisco . With the recession caused by the financial crisis in 2007 , the office was relocated to the more cost-effective Sonoma in 2008 ; sales and logistics are handled from Nevada .
In 2003, French sold the company to Prowest Media Corporation from John Rutherford , former president and chief producer of Falcon Studios , and his partner Tom Settle . The new owners renamed the company COLT Studio Group . Since the second half of 2009, they have been using their long-standing website together with Buddy Profits , which received the XBIZ Award in 2010.
The new owners had problems relatively soon after the contract was signed. According to her information, some images were missing and the brand was no longer as popular as expected. Due to the recession in 2008, business was "heavily in decline". In May 2009, complained Jim French Studios Inc. , the Prowest Media for breach of contract because it came with the purchase price repeatedly in default and French sought reimbursement rights. In June 2010 Prowest Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and the two owners filed for Chapter 7 liquidation . The largest debtor is former owner Jim French. French tried in the meantime to regain control of the company or liquidation under Chapter 7 . In January 2011, the Chapter 11 restructuring project was finally approved. The outstanding claims should be settled in installments.
