Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances is a browser-based Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) from the German studio EA Phenomic , which officially went into operation on May 24, 2012. It is based on the Tiberium universe of the Command & Conquer saga , but there is no plot, only the units are based on the original series in terms of name and appearance.

Gameplay

The game is about building an increasing number of bases with the help of resources (Tiberium, crystal, credits, electricity). The player can gain these resources by attacking and destroying the bases of the forgotten or by "harvesting" resource fields in his base himself. The resources are used to build an army. With this the player can attack other players or the bases of the forgotten. While the bases of the forgotten disappear from the world forever, other players can build their base again at any time in another place, this then only loses resources.

The aim of the game is to control the center, in which there is a huge base of the forgotten that has to be destroyed. However, since building the army from a level-up system is associated with exponentially increasing costs for the army, it takes months for the players to reach the middle. However, this is initially only reserved for those players who have entered a very active alliance system (alliance). Because this alliance can conquer certain points and thus gain additional resources and combat bonus points. As a result, all players try to join the best possible alliance, which means that the best alliance not only has the best (most active) players, but also has the highest levels and reaches the next levels even more easily thanks to the extra bonus points.

The members of the alliances, which have up to 50 players, usually communicate with each other via Teamspeak with a headset, which creates strong bonds between the players.

Developer company

In July 2013 EA closed the German developer studio Phenomic, which it had bought in 2006, and laid off 60 employees. The game was still looked after by a company in Sweden. In April 2015, support was transferred to Envision Entertainment, which had been founded by former Phenomic developers.

criticism

The increasing commercialization of "Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances" is criticized by part of the community. The player has to buy funds for a fee in order to be able to make more attacks per day, for example.
