The Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas CCU for short is the largest brewery group in Chile . In addition to beer , non-alcoholic drinks are also produced. Food is also produced. The company's largest shareholder is Inversiones y Rentas SA (IRSA), a joint venture between Quiñenco and Heineken .

history

The CCU was founded in 1902 as a single brewery and quickly expanded throughout Chile, with soft drinks being produced and mineral water bottled as early as 1907 . In the 1990s, the main business of beer began to move away, and Vinã San Pedro SA was taken over. Since then, CCU has been offering wine . The diversification continued in the years to come as pisco and candy producers were taken over. Today, CCU is the largest brewery group in Chile, the largest mineral water bottler, the second largest wine producer and the second largest brewer in Argentina.
