The Comptoir Commercial Bara Mboup ( CCBM for short ) is a trading and industrial company as well as an automobile manufacturer in Dakar ( Senegal ).

history

CCBM emerged in 1992 from the Bara Mboup establishment , which had been active in the Kaolack region since 1960 . After the company's founder died in 1992, Serigne Mboup took over management.

CCBM is active in retail, freight forwarding and the food industry. With the import of vehicles in 2006 CCBM expanded its activities to the automotive sector. The subsidiaries in 2008 included Master office (office supplies), SBMA (groceries), Pridoux (retail), Espace Auto (automobile sales) and CCBM immobilier (real estate). At the same time, an average annual turnover of 30 billion CFA francs (approx. EUR 45 million) was stated. In 2009, 800 employees generated sales of 40 billion CFA francs (approx. EUR 60 million). By 2014, CCBM had become the third largest automobile dealer in the country.

Automobile production began (depending on the source) in 2010, 2011 or 2012. SKD kits are used for this. CCBM has assembly licenses for Ssangyong , Great Wall , Chery and Foton . According to the company's own information, 300 employees were employed at the CCBM plant in 2014, who were supposed to achieve a capacity of 400 vehicles (but without specifying the reference period). At times, production came to a complete standstill.
