The anime television series Neon Genesis Evangelion released over 20 games for console and PC . In addition to the official adaptations, there are over 20 fan-produced games.

Role playing games, simulations and adventures

The first game adaptation was Neon Genesis Evangelion: 1st Impression for the Sega Saturn console . The role-playing game is about the first meeting of the characters Shinji Ikari and Sohryu Asuka Langley. The follow-up game Neon Genesis Evangelion: 2nd Impression deals with the relationship between Shinji and the character Mayumi Yamagishi ( 山 岸 マ ユ ミ ), created especially for the game .

1998 appeared with Shin Seiki Evangelion: Kōtetsu no Girlfriend for Sega Saturn , PlayStation and PC, the first part of a series of games, the second of which was also adapted as a manga . This also appeared in Germany.

In 1999 Neon Genesis Evangelion from Bandai followed for the Nintendo 64 . The game is set during the series and film The End of Evangelion . In 13 missions the player has to fight against attacking angels. In 2003, Bandai released the game Shinseiki Evangelion 2: Evangelions ( 新 世紀 エ ヴ ァ ン ゲ リ オ ン 2 ) for the PlayStation 2 console . The role-playing game offers 24 missions that take place during the plot of the series and sometimes create alternative or advanced story arcs. In 2006 a version for the PlayStation Portable was released .

From 2001 to 2003 the Ikusei Simulation Game was released ( 育成 シ ミ ュ レ ー シ ョ ン ゲ ー ム , ikusei shimyurēshon gēmu , English raising sim ) Shin Seiki Evangelion: Ayanami Ikusei Keikaku ( 新 世紀 エ ヴ ァ ン ゲ リ 波 育成 ン 綾 ) The player in several versions for Windows is supposed to take over the education of Rei Ayanami in the role of a NERV officer .

In 2004 Gainax released the PC game Shin Seiki Evangerion: Ikari Shinji Ikusei Keikaku ( 新 世紀 エ ヴ ァ ン ゲ リ オ ン ン 碇 シ ン ジ 育成 計画 ), in which the player takes on the role of Shinji Ikari. The plot is set in the alternate universe shown in the last episode of the series, but here too the angels have to be fought.

In 2006 Secret of Evangelion was released for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, followed in 2007 by Meitantei Evangelion for the PlayStation 2 by Broccoli. Meitantei Evangelion also appeared as a manga in Shōnen Ace magazine .

In 2007 Broccoli released the fighting game Neon Genesis Evangelion: Battle Orchestra for PlayStation 2.

In 2009, Bandai Namco Games released the action adventure Evangelion: Jo for Playstation 2 and PSP. The player slips into the role of Shinji and fights against the angels in several missions.

Mahjong games
