ConRuhr

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ConRuhr (Consortium of Ruhr Universities) is a coordination office for international university cooperation that was founded in 2004–2011 by the University Alliance Metropolis Ruhr (UAMR: Ruhr University Bochum , Technical University Dortmund and University Duisburg-Essen ). These three universities are characterized by close cooperation and joint initiatives, especially in the field of internationally networked teaching and research.

ConRuhr has its own offices in New York , Moscow , São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro . These act as contact and information agencies and pursue the goal of contributing to the internationalization of science and education by supporting the exchange of scientists, teachers and students as well as through knowledge transfer between the three UAMR universities on the one hand and universities in Eastern Europe and South America on the other, as well as the Ruhr area to present as an outstanding location of academic excellence.

ConRuhr differs from the German Academic Exchange Service ( DAAD ) in that it is responsible for contacts at university level, but not for individual study or research stays.

The ConRuhr Russia office responsible for the CIS is located in the German-Russian Institute of the State University for Railways and Transport MIIT in Moscow. It publishes a monthly newsletter in Russian, which informs Russian universities about the profile, research and study opportunities of the UAMR and is unique in its topicality and regularity.
