Conclusion of an Age is a five-piece German alternative rock band from Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Bavaria .

history

Conclusion of an Age was founded in 2014 and consists of the five musicians Kevin Di Prima (vocals), Julian Kaiser (rhythm guitar), Michael Kaiser (lead guitar), Micha Mangold (bass) and Philip Deuer (drums). The name of the group pays homage to the album of the same name by the British thrash metal band Sylosis , which, along with other bands such as Avenged Sevenfold or Trivium, significantly influenced the creation and style of the band's first works.

The band had their first appearance in 2015 at the NN-Rockbühne in Nuremberg, where they met their future producer Timon Seidl (including Visionatica, Rawkfist) from the Redaudio studio in Herzogenaurach. Shortly afterwards, in November 2015, the pre-production and finally in January 2016 the main recordings of their debut album Captains and Kings began, which was mastered in the Gate Studio by Miro Rodenberg ( Edguy , Kamelot , Brainstorm ) and mastered on July 21, 2017 via Dr. Music Records was released.

Before the release of their debut album, the song Days Turn into Night including a music video was released on July 8, 2016 as the first single on YouTube. With this song, the band won the Metal Hammer Paradise Contest 2016 and thus an appearance at the Metal Hammer Paradise Festival 2016.

After the release of their debut album, the band started their specially organized "Tyranny Falls Tour" in 2017, where they performed all over Germany, including the Metalacker Tennenbronn 2017 and the Taubertal Festival 2018. Since then, the band has been in a constant process of development and creation in order to stand out from their debut album Captains and Kings with a more modern style.

On April 15, 2020, the first single was released outside of their debut album. According to the band, the song, called Empire Of Clouds , should adopt a new musical style (see also chapter "Style").

style

The style of the band on the album Captains and Kings can be assigned to the genre Heavy Metal or Melodic Metal . Decisive here are the melodic and building on guitar parts of the two guitarists Julian and Michael Kaiser. These often fast and hard musical parts form a contrast to Kevin Di Primate's clear and high-pitched singing voice.

With their release of the single "Empire Of Clouds" on April 15, 2020, the band made a clear break in style with their earlier works. The band describes the song as the result of months of discovery and the start of a new musical journey that has only just begun. The difference to earlier works is on the one hand the increased use of synthesizers and effects, more minimalist instrumental parts, and a more present vocal voice.
