Condusiv Technologies (until 2011: Diskeeper Corporation ) is a software company headquartered in Burbank , California . Diskeeper Corporation Europe is based in Crawley , England.

The company was founded in 1981 by Craig Jensen under the name Executive Software .

Executive software became known to a larger section of the population in Germany around 2000 through the discussion whether software from a company of an avowed member of the Scientology sect could be used in the public sector.

After Diskeeper had held a position as the market-leading automated disk defragmenter for Windows and OpenVMS for nearly two decades , Executive Software decided to focus on this flagship product and changed the company's name to Diskeeper Corporation accordingly.

The strategic partners include Dell , Hewlett-Packard , Intel and Microsoft Corp. Direct competitors for defragmentation software include MyDefrag (formerly JkDefrag), Raxco Software , O&O Software, and Symantec (via Speed Disk for the Norton Utilities and Norton Systemworks product families ).

Products

The company develops and sells various software solutions. The most important product for many years has been Diskeeper , a hard drive defragmenter for Microsoft Windows systems. The Diskeeper 2010 version with IntelliWrite is not only supposed to defragment automatically in the background like the previous versions, but also actively reduce the occurrence of fragmentation during the writing process. Other products include Undelete, a file recovery program that can be used to restore accidentally deleted files, and V-locity , a solution to improve the performance of virtual platforms by defragmenting and synchronizing ongoing activity between the host and various guest operating systems.
