Conkarah (* thirtieth January 1985 in Kingston ; bourgeois Nicholas Murray ) is a Jamaican reggae - singer .

Career

The son of a British woman and a Jamaican, who was born in the Jamaican capital Kingston , attended various schools in Jamaica and the United States. After graduating, he moved to London , where numerous appearances in hip music clubs first attracted the attention of a wide audience. He made his breakthrough in 2016 with a reggae cover version of Adele's song Hello . He then released the album Reggae Covers, Vol. 1 in 2018 , which only contains cover versions of well-known songs by artists such as Avicii , Bastille and Justin Bieber .

With the song Banana , originally released in 2019 , a new version of the Banana Boat song that emerged from a collaboration with Shaggy and DJ Fle, Conkarah managed to enter the German, Austrian, Swiss and Dutch single charts in 2020. In the latter, the title took first place and lasted a few weeks. In addition, the song went viral on the TikTok video portal with more than 20 million streams within a month .
