Connachan Lodge

The Connachan Lodge is a residential building near the Scottish town of Crieff in the Council Area Perth and Kinross . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

description

The residential building was built in the early 19th century. The Connachan Lodge is largely isolated in a sparsely populated region off the A822 around six kilometers northeast of Crieff at the foot of the Meall Tarsuinn . The cottage is on one level, but has a loft. Its outstandingly designed masonry is made of quarry stone , but wooden elements were also used. A five-axis veranda runs along the main facade, which is exposed to the northeast. It is made with arches, the gussets of which are patterned horizontally. Dormers rise from the hipped roof . Inside is a remarkable Georgian open fireplace.
