Conrad Schäfer

Conrad Schäfer , also Conrad Scheffer (* before 1590 in Sommerhausen ; † February 7, 1624 in Dresden ) was a German councilor in Dresden and mayor .

Life

Schäfer came from the Lower Franconian town of Sommerhausen near Würzburg and is listed in the council documents as a "trader". Little is known about his life. In 1590 he acquired the citizenship of Dresden and joined the council in 1618. In 1621 he was elected mayor. He died in Dresden before the start of his second term as governing mayor (according to the council regulations, the mayors ruled every three years).
