description

Consolea picardae grows upright, tree-shaped with a branched crown and reaches heights of 3 to 10 meters. The non-articulated trunk is initially elliptical in cross-section and becomes circular with age. It is densely armed with thorns. The elongated to lanceolate, glossy dark green shoot sections are weakly humped and (almost) thornless. They are 12 to 35 inches long, 5 to 9 inches wide and 4 to 9 millimeters thick. Thorns are usually absent on the lateral and youngest shoot sections.

The yellow or orange flowers turn red as they fade. They have a diameter of 2.5 to 4.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel is covered with areoles that have no thorns. The egg-shaped to ellipsoidal-egg-shaped fruits are slightly compressed at the sides. They reach a length of 5 to 9 centimeters and a diameter of 4 to 6.5 centimeters.
