Leon Nils Constantin Ebert (born January 9, 1996 in Würzburg ) is a German basketball player . The development player has been part of the third division BBC Coburg squad since 2019 .
career
Ebert started playing basketball in his home town of Würzburg at the age of 13, and went through the youth department of S.Oliver Würzburg . From 2012 he gained experience in the men's division at the TG Würzburg (first in the second, later also in the first regional league). From 2014 he was in the Würzburg squad for the 2nd Bundesliga ProA and rose to the basketball Bundesliga with the team in 2015 . In addition to short stints for S.Oliver Würzburg in the Bundesliga, Ebert developed into a top performer at TG, which made it into the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2014 .
In June 2016, he signed a three-year contract with Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig and was given a double license, which allowed him to play in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB for their cooperation partner Duke Wolfenbüttel in addition to the games with the Löwen . He didn't make a breakthrough in the Bundesliga. In none of his 22 games for Braunschweig's first division team did he receive double-digit minutes. Ebert was a top performer for the Dukes of Wolfenbüttel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB: In the 2016/17 game year he scored an average of 9.5 points and distributed 3.9 assists per match. In the 2017/18 season, these mean values increased to 13 points and 4.7 templates per game.
In mid-June 2018, Ebert was signed by the second division VfL Kirchheim , but suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during preparation in August 2018 and had to undergo an operation, which was to be followed by a long break in play. Due to the injury, he remained without match practice in the 2018/19 season, in the summer break of 2019 Ebert joined the BBC Coburg (2nd Bundesliga ProB).
National team
Ebert participated with the German national teams in the U16 European Championship 2011, the U18 European Championship (B group), the Albert Schweitzer Tournament 2014, the U18 European Championship 2014 (B group) and the U20 European Championship 2015 part.
