Constantin Niţă

Constantin Niță (born November 27, 1955 in Mirosloveşti , Iaşi ) is a Romanian economist and politician .

Life

Niță attended elementary school in his birthplace and passed the Abitur at a school in Paşcani . After serving in the army, he studied economics and then law at the University of Iași . After completing his Ph.D. in economics in 1999, he specialized in marketing. Constantin Niță has published several books and various articles in specialist magazines on marketing and tourism. He is currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Transylvania Brașov .

Niță is also a member of the Partidul Social Democrat (PSD) and has been a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for the Brașov district since 2000 . From 2008 to 2009 he was Minister for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Trade in the Boc I cabinet . From 2012 to 2014 he was Romanian Minister of Energy in the Ponta II cabinet . From March to December 2014 he was Minister of Economic Affairs.

Niță was sentenced to four years in prison for corruption in May 2017.

Constantin Niță is married and has one child.
