Constraint was a German hardcore band from Hanover .

history

The band was founded in Hanover in 1995 and released the demo Soulgrind in the same year , due to which they received a recording contract with Lifeforce Records . The EP Twelveeighteen and the 7 ″ single Breath were released there in 1997 and 1998, respectively .

As a result, Kingfisher Records, a sub-label of Century Media , signed the group and released the album What We Are Is What We Do and What We Do Always Changes in 1999, the quartet's only album to be simply called Changes . The Visions review praised the fact that "many clear arrangements, only a few growls and, above all, countless rhythm changes [...] received the potential for tension". In the discussion of Intro , the music was described as "rather sluggish, metallic and still ass kicking". Musically, u. a. a comparison was made with Earth Crisis .

No further publications have appeared since the debut album. Guitarist Thias joined the Hanoverian crossover band Coan Teen in 2001.
