coop @ home (also called coopathome) is the Coop Cooperative's online supermarket . The range includes groceries, household and beauty products. The site also contains recipes that can be used to automatically create shopping lists. After an order has been put together, the customer selects the desired delivery time.

The largest online competitor is LeShop.ch , which belongs to the Swiss retailer Migros .

history

coop @ home started under the name Remote Ordering on August 24, 2001 with deliveries in and around Zurich . In 2006 the online supermarket and the wine shop merged to form coop @ home. Coop @ home has been using the same delivery network as Swiss Post since 2008 . In 2009 an iPhone app was launched. An iPad and Android app are also available today. Mail order has been available in German, French and English since autumn 2010.

In November 2011 the company launched a drive-in on Sihlquai in Zurich. Buyers order online and then collect their order at a specific location.

On November 29, 2011, a new project will be presented at the Coop at the Bahnhofsbrücke in Zurich. The products were shown on a large poster. Customers could scan the product's EAN code using their smartphones and add the product to their shopping cart.

Coop's first virtual sales point emerged from the collaboration with Google in 2013. Employees could put their shopping carts together in a micro kitchen and have it delivered to the company address at Google in Zurich. The concept was later expanded, making it possible to deliver to other locations. In addition, a shopping wall was created at the main train station in Zurich . The idea of this concept was adapted from a Tesco project in South Korea , which introduced virtual shopping for waiting commuters in 2011.

In summer 2015 they started testing personalized discounts for their customers. In practice, this meant that customers were offered different promotions. This service was considered controversial in the market.

In October 2015, Swiss Post started a pilot project to deliver the company's orders on Sundays as well.

In 2015 sales grew to CHF 120 million, which corresponds to a growth of 5.5% compared to the previous year. Mobile devices accounted for approximately 26% of all orders.

In the summer of 2016, the company switched to a new platform, launched a new design and expanded the functionalities of the online shop. The mobile apps are rated poorly in the app store, with an average rating of 2/5 stars. Above all, speed, stability and data quality are criticized.

In 2016, sales grew to CHF 129 million, a growth of 7.2% compared to the previous year. In 2017, coop @ home was the most dynamic retail sector at Coop, with growth of 10.5% to CHF 142 million. The 2019 financial year resulted in sales growth of 5.4%.

The previous payment methods were supplemented by Twint .

On June 17, 2020, coop @ home was replaced by the new Coop omnichannel platform coop.ch. The new coop.ch website merges the existing online presences of coop @ home, the former coop.ch and Mondovino portal.
