CM (Corien) Wortmann-Kool (born June 27, 1959 in Oud-Alblas ) is a Dutch manager and former politician of the Christian Democratic Appèls (CDA).

Life

Wortmann studied health and nursing in Leusden as well as political science at the Free University of Amsterdam ( Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam ).

She worked at the Ministry of Transport and Water Management and was deputy head of the Transport and Infrastructure Directorate from 2001 to 2004.

Political career

Wortmann was a member of the boards of the youth associations of the CHU and the CDA and was a member of the board of the CDA from 1987 to 1994.

From 1994 to 1999 she was a member of the Zeist municipal council for this party (from 1995 as parliamentary group leader).

From 2004 to 2014 she was a member of the CDA and the EPP in the European Parliament .

From 2009 to 2014, Wortmann was a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the delegation for relations with the United States. As a member of the ECON committee, in 2011 she was rapporteur for the report on the Commission's proposal COM (2010) 526 on strengthening budgetary surveillance and the monitoring and coordination of economic policies within the framework of the SixPack legislative package. The report played a central role in the trialogue conflict between the Council and Parliament at the time.

As a deputy, she was in the Committee on Transport and Tourism , in the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality as well as in the delegation in the committees for parliamentary cooperation EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia and also in the delegation in of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly .

Current career

Wortmann has been chairwoman of the board of the ABP pension fund since January 1, 2015 .

Corien Wortmann is married and has two children.
