Corinna Belz (* 1955 in Marburg an der Lahn ) is a German filmmaker , screenwriter and actress .

Life

Corinna Belz studied  philosophyart history , as well as  theaterfilm and television studies  in  CologneBerlin  and  Zurich . She received a lot of recognition for her documentaries, her film  Another America , which shows the USA after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001  , was nominated for the  Grimme Prize  . For her feature film  Gerhard Richter Painting  , she received the  German Film Prize 2012  in the Best Documentary Film category . The filmmaker had already dealt with Gerhard Richter's work beforehand   , which probably prompted the media-shy artist to get involved with Corinna Belz's project. In 2016 she made the documentary  Peter Handke. I'm in the forest. I may be late for  the cinema. With  Peter Handke  , too, she managed to find access to the otherwise very withdrawn writer.
