Cornamusa - World of Pipe Rock and Irish Dance is an international music and dance show.

history

The idea for this music project came up in 2012. The musicians of the former band Cornamusa , especially Torsten Bähring and Peter Scheler, got together and developed the concept of the show. They then implement this concept with the choreographers of the Irish Beats Dance Company Berlin, Nicole Ohnesorge and Gyula Glaser. Started small at first (the first tour included four concerts), the implementation of the idea grew over the years. The team can now boast several hundred appearances in German-speaking countries as well as trips to neighboring countries. Audience numbers in the six-digit range and appearances in houses such as the Gewandhaus in Leipzig . the Tempodrom in Berlin or the Jahrhunderthalle (Frankfurt am Main) in Frankfurt am Main testify to the success of the international troupe. The current sixth tour is going to the USA for two weeks .

program

The show consists of a mixture of Celtic music and Irish tap dancing . Each tour has an overarching theme that is associated with the Celtic legends. This theme spans the entire show. Cover pieces in the right guise, but primarily their own compositions, form the musical background for the implementation of the theme. Solo numbers by the musicians, pieces with the focus on the dancers, to titles in which the entire ensemble uses the stage in its entirety, alternate. The two producers Peter Scheler and Torsten Bähring are responsible for the musical program, while the two choreographers Nicole Ohnesorge and Gyula Glaser are responsible for the dance performances.
